RUMOR HAS IT
by Farrah F. Polestico
Published on Nov 30, 2015
Genre: Contemporary Romance

SYNOPSIS:

It’s senior year and it’s now or never. Callie Rivera always wanted to be part of her school’s drama club, and she finally musters the courage to audition for Shakespeare’s classic A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Only she got the audition dates wrong and landed a role that only existed in her wildest dreams. And her co-actor? None other than Landon Arcival, theater actor extraordinaire, not to mention Callie’s (former) crush— or so she says.

Callie is living the dream, until she wakes up to a nightmare. According to the rumor mill, she is sleeping with different guys in her school. Of course, it isn’t true, but who would believe her? And the worst part? It may or may not be her fault the rumors spread in the first place.

What to do? Callie finds herself in the middle of a hot mess. But then Landon proposes the perfect plan that can fix everything, but only if they don’t fall for each other first.

FEELS...

My Random Thoughts

1. A young Adult story is not really my thing, that's why I didn't like how the story unfolds. Callie is so 'assuming', I didn't like her for that. The betrayal of her best friend and the best issue from Landon--they were all assumptions. Girl, stop judging, please. You, acting like that gets on my nerves. The teenage love in this story was quite 'cheesy' on my part--I guess 'cause I never experienced one. All my crushes were ignorant of my feelings--or worst they felt disgusted towards me. But Callie was different, she had fulfilled her teenage love. He loved her all along. I envied you, Callie, but I am happy for you.

2. I'm not fond of a charming guy or even a Prince Charming--I like more brooding men in fiction, so Landon isn't my type. Yes to that, you're lucky Callie to have him. He's too sweet for me! Too perfect for me! He thought the love they had would last forever. Wake up, Landon! There's no forever! Weren't you underage to have your own car? Haha. Give me the key!

3. I actually liked Miranda. Haha. That bitch. I'll root for childhood-friends-turned-lovers shipping. It's Callie's fault for threading those lies, she should have never accused Beatrice of betrayal, however, I had to understand that their just kids, teenagers--they were still experiencing a growth spurt. Miranda wasn't the only one responsible for the rumors about Callie being a skank and slut. Lies, lies, lies! Burn to hell!

4. Beatrice, bow down. I salute you. Bestie of the Year goes to--dan dan dan--Beatrice! You had never done anything wrong, if I were you I would never talk to Callie, but, yes, you're a good girl and you loved your bestie. Let's cheers to that kind of friendship!

These teenagers have a long way to go. Finish your study first! Haha. Chos!

Rating: 4 out of 5 STARS

It's a good read if you're looking for fresh and blissful teenage love. It's so good to be young, ne, Callie, and Landon?
